“ Tan's House is located in a shopping center in the corner of Yorba Linda Blvd and Lakeview. It is fairly easy to locate and access. Parking is decent. The most obvious entrance has stairs, but there is an ADA entrance to the left of the stairs. The interior is clean and tidy, but the colors are quite bold. The dominant color scheme is teal and glittery gold. The tables, being dark wood, help balance it out the loud colors. We were pleasantly greeted and seated as soon as we came in. We arrived at the tail end of the lunch hour so we missed the rush. Our server came to take our orders promptly. We chose the lunch specials: honey walnut shrimp for myself, orange peel chicken for my daughter. My honey walnut shrimp was lightly crispy on the outside and the shrimp was tender. The walnuts still had a crunch and it was not overly sweet. My daughter's orange peel chicken was also tasty. Not too spicy, slightly crunchy, and slightly chewy in a good way. The specials come with your choice of soup or soda; white, brown, or fried rice; and a spring roll. We additionally ordered the cream cheese wontons and the chicken egg rolls. The wontons were so perfectly shaped that they looked like they were pre-made. The chicken egg rolls were larger than any I've ever seen. Both were served piping hot, nice and crunchy on the outside and perfectly seasoned and filled. I will say that I miss the complimentary pot of tea that used to always be served at authentic Chinese restaurants. It used to be brought to the table automatically when seated. Has this staple just stopped being a thing? Anyway, overall a good experience here at Tan's. It's a family owned small business so I most likely will return to support them. ”
“ Good food and good prices. I personally enjoyed their soup dumplings and their calamari. My brother-in-laws' favorite is the fried fish filet with black bean sauce. The restaurant itself is not that big, and we didn't have to wait for our table when we came for an early dinner on a Saturday. Wish the tables had a lazy susan where you can easily turn the table to share the food. Since this is not the typical Korean-Chinese place, you can't get Kimchi or Black bean noodles here. This is near where my sister lives, and she frequently comes to this place to enjoy their food. I would be back! ”
“ This is the only place that has my favorite item, Honey walnut chicken!!!! It's usually shrimp and don't get me wrong, I still love that version. But this has the chicken version and I love it even more!!! Everything they have here has been good. They even have the crispy wontons or whatever it is to start and I haven't had them since forever. I feel like other places don't have it. I always enjoy eating here. Service is good and fast. ”
